Jaxson Dart: Franchise QB Confirmed

I liken this feeling to the first time I met my wife…..but way better. Just kidding… but seriously I am as surprised as the rest of the football universe that Jaxson Chase Dart has looked this calm, cool, and gorgeous. The man can just straight up sling it, and the reaction time between him seeing an open receiver and pulling the trigger is as elite as it can get for a rookie quarterback. At this point, Jaxson Dart is being talked about about as often on the “talking head programs” than Lebron was in his prime. Not saying Dart is the next “King James”…but he sure as hell may be the next “King of New York”.

Greeny on “Get Up” singing his praise on the performance of rookie quarterback, Jaxson Dart, this preseason for the New York Giants.

It has been a longtime since someone’s online sentiment has been literally blanket positivity in the social media age. Giants fans, opposing fans, “experts”, and people who like handsome men all seem to really love this guy. One of the hardest people to make love you seems to love him too…and his name is Brian Daboll. The man gets giddy when talking about Jaxson and his development. He knows Darty boy is his one way ticket to staying a head coach for a long long time. If Jaxson flops…Daboll is gone.

So how did Jaxson really perform in the preseason?

Preseason stats:

3 Games Played (Partially each game)

-32-47 on Passing Attempts

-372 Passing Yards

-3 Passing Touchdowns

-1 Rushing Touchdown

-Zero Interceptions

Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2020-2021..Dart has had this talent in him all along.

Dart was also greatly hindered by 7 drops during this preseason that would’ve added an estimated 115 yards passing to his total. Lets be honest….Jalin Hyatt sucks. He’s a bum…and I am good on him. Him and Evan Neal can take the next train to Philadelphia…where dreams go to die.

So the real question: When will Jaxson Dart take the wheel? I have mixed emotions and fluctuating opinions by the second on this topic. One thing I do know for a fact and agree with, on Sunday, September 7th, Russell Wilson will be under center as QB1 to begin the year.

This we know….

But if Wilson even slightly struggles and we don’t seem to have any juice on offense…when do we start the franchise’s next chapter? I heard a take that I think I agree with. Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints. This is the spot. If the G-Men start off the year 1-3 or a horrific 0-4…this is a perfect time to bring in Jaxson to start his career. It’s a game we will most likely be favored in on paper, and an opportunity to set him up for success early.

As this glaze session comes to an end it also leads me to one more point about why I am so damn confident he’s going to be a top 10 quarterback in this league for over a decade. Everyone seems pleasantly “surprised” of how well he’s playing, how he looks, and how calm/cool he is in the pocket. But as I go down a Dart rabbit hole…I learned that he’s been this guy all along.

In 2020-2021 Jaxson Dart was awarded the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award after an absolutely dominant senior year. Just as a reference….other notable winners are listed below:

-Lebron James

-Peyton Manning

-Jayson Tatum

-Kobe Bryant

-Emmit Smith

-Abby Wambach

-Derek Jeter

I’d say….pretty solid company.

His stats…were absurd.

-4,691 Passing Yards

-67 Passing Touchdowns

-4 Interceptions

-1,195 Rushing Yards

-12 Rushing Touchdowns

Whether we see Jaxson Dart in Week 1….week 5….or next year, I’d say as a Giant’s fan we all have something to be hopeful for when thinking about the future of the New York Football Giants.

Go Big Blue!
