In Memoriam

The overall theme and style of living/writing that I do is light hearted joke heavy coverage of my favorite team on Earth, the New York Football Giants. But I want to take a moment to ruin that theme and express the real reason I became a Giants fan and the person behind me starting this page.

Ellen Murphy aka Ellsworth aka The Draft Wizard

This person was my aunt, my Godmother, and the biggest Giants fan on this planet. She passed away during the 2024 season after battling pneumonia and other health issues. She meant so much to so many people, it’s hard and would be way too much detail to actually describe what she meant to everyone. Hard writing this to be honest.

She started engraining Big Blue into my temporal lobe at a very young age. Every memory I’ve ever had of Giant’s football was always with her involved. Sunday afternoon going to my mom’s house surrounded by family, friends, and a nice spread of food. We didn’t always agree on team strategy, offseason moves, or draft picks….but she is the main reason my love for the New York Giants is unfathomable.

We created a temporary little blog together two or three years ago covering all things sports and news. I then fell to the chaos of life with two young children so that project eventually tapered off. I want to follow through with this and hopefully continue the Big Blue tradition in her honor.

We love you Ellsworth and your memory will forever live on. Lets go Big Blue!!
